A rescue before it's time...

A dear friend from high school said to me the other day "It makes total sense you would have a cat rescue." She couldn't be more correct. This was a long time coming and just became an official entity.

When we launched this rescue a few weeks ago my mom made a post that reminded me that this dream wasn't a fresh idea. When I was a little girl I vividly remember typing up a poster and plan to run a cat boarding facility in our home. According to my mom we even posted the sign in a pet store but sadly didn't get any takers. But the concept of having tons of kitties around me is not a new concept around here.

When I was in my later childhood years my family took in a momma and her babies to care for as they grew bigger. We also took in several strays and helped them find their forever homes or made our home their forever home.

In late high school and early college I spent a ton of time volunteering at the humane society and perfected giving cats baths. That comes in handy when I am doing tons of fleas baths a day.

In my early adult, about 7 years ago, life a friend told me they had a momma with three kittens who needed a foster and I was all over it. After the babies were big enough I found homes for all of the cats.

Then last year I read a Facebook post about 7 kittens who were 2 weeks old and needed bottle fed and my pregnancy hormones said YES PLEASE. With a very supportive husband we then fostered 2 other litters immediately after and then took a break as my due date approached and we welcomed our third child into the world.

So here we are. September 1st of 2023 we became an official nonprofit in the state of Ohio and as of this moment we have 21 cats in our rescue awaiting medical care, growth, and their forever homes.

And the best is yet to come....
